SPOOF
Definition
Spoof is a narrative or recount text that tell the past event which have unpredictable and funny ending.
Purpose
The purpose of the spoof is not only to retell the past event , and also to entertain the readers or the listeners.
Generic structure
- -Orientation
Tell us about the main setting of the story .
- Event
Tell what happened in the story and contain plot , character , etc .
- -Twist
The funniest part of the story with unpredictable and funny ending .
Example
He is My Child
One day , 4 moms have a meeting in the café . They are Mrs. Nenny , Mrs. Jenny , Mrs. Venny , Mrs. Renny . They haven’t meet each other for about 10 years .
After having a meal, they tell about their son and daughter. Mrs. Renny says “My son was a doctor from Padjajaran University “. “My daughter was a doctor too from Gajah Mada University” says Mrs. Nenny . “Woow, same here. My son was also a doctor from Indonesian University.” says Mrs. Jenny .
Mrs. Venny doesn’t want to lose either. Proudly she says “My son was a doctor too ” . “Really ? Where his university?” Says Mrs. Nenny. “He is graduate in ITB”.
